When to Visit Croatia for a Boat Trip: Month-by-Month

By Paradise Charter · 16 June 2026 · 7 min read

Croatia's coast operates on a tight calendar. Restaurants on the smaller islands open in May and close in October, the bura wind shows up in shoulder season, and water temperature swings 10°C across the season. This is how the months feel from the boat.

May

Sea 18–20°C. Few crowds, long sunny days, some konobas still closed. Great for couples and photographers.

June

Sea 21–23°C. The sweet spot — warm water, everything open, no peak prices. We recommend June above every other month.

July

Sea 23–25°C. Hot, busy, prices peak. Book at least eight weeks ahead. Mornings on the water are perfect; afternoons in the towns can be intense.

August

Sea 25–27°C. Croatia's high season — locals on holiday and the islands at full tilt. Bookings two months out are normal.

September

Sea 23–24°C. Our other favourite month — warm water, calmer islands, harvest in the vineyards.

October

Sea 19–21°C. Quiet, golden light, a higher chance of a windy day. Charter prices drop noticeably from mid-October.
