Hvar from Split by Speedboat: Day Trip Itinerary
By Paradise Charter · 25 May 2026 · 8 min read
Hvar is the island most guests ask about by name, and for good reason — it has the best food, the prettiest old town and an archipelago of swimming coves on its doorstep. The trick is to use a speedboat as a tool: skip the slow public ferry, swim before lunch, and be in town when the day-trippers have left.
Suggested itinerary
09:30 — Depart Split
Forty-five minutes south past Šolta. Coffee on board.
10:30 — Pakleni Islands
Anchor in the turquoise channel at Vinogradišće (Sveti Klement). Swim, snorkel, lunch at Laganini or Toto's if you want barefoot fine-dining on the sand.
14:30 — Hvar town
Tie up at the ACI marina or anchor off and tender in. An hour for the old town, the cathedral square and the climb to the Spanish fortress if it's not too hot.
16:30 — Quiet swim on the way back
Either Stipanska cove (rock platforms, deep blue water) or Mlini bay on Šolta on the way home.
18:30 — Return to Split
Skyline lit by the late sun. Showers, dinner in Varoš, done.
What to bring

- Soft-soled shoes if you plan to walk the Hvar fortress.
- Cash for tips and small bars on the Pakleni.
Frequently asked
- Is one day enough for Hvar?
- For the town and the closest swimming coves, yes. To explore the wine country and Stari Grad as well, give it two.
- Can we have lunch booked on Hvar?
- Yes — we'll reserve Laganini, Toto's, Zori or a table in the old town. Tell us style and budget when you book.
