Golden Horn & Brac Island
The Golden Horn (Zlatni Rat) and Brač Island are two of Croatia’s most iconic natural wonders, offering stunning landscapes, rich history, and a peaceful atmosphere. Located in the central Adriatic, Brač Island is renowned for its rugged beauty and the famous Golden Horn beach, making it a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Croatia.
Brac Island
Brač is the third-largest island in Croatia and is renowned for its rugged beauty, traditional villages, stunning beaches, and rich cultural heritage.
Natural Beauty: Brač Island is a paradise for nature lovers, offering diverse landscapes that include rocky hills, olive groves, pine forests, and beautiful beaches. The island’s highest peak, Vidova Gora, offers panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and the nearby islands, including Hvar and Vis. It’s a fantastic spot for hiking and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
Historical and Cultural Sites: Brač has a rich history that dates back to Roman times, and the island’s charming towns and villages are full of historical landmarks. The town of Supetar, the largest on the island, offers a mix of traditional stone houses, small cafes, and beautiful waterfront promenades. In Pučišća, you can visit the island’s famous stone masonry school, where the renowned white stone used to build Diocletian’s Palace in Split is still quarried today.
Beaches and Relaxation: Beyond the Golden Horn, Brač has plenty of other beautiful beaches, many of which are quieter and less crowded. Lovrečina Bay, for example, is a secluded, sandy beach perfect for swimming and picnicking. The island also has several secluded coves and pebble beaches ideal for a peaceful day by the sea.
